PT temp job at FOR: help us migrate our web site content
Content Management Specialist
part-time, temporary position
The Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) is seeking an energetic, creative person to help transition to our new web site. As we migrate from static HTML to a database-driven content management system, we are in need of help managing and organizing our content. Actual website design and development will be handled by a separate contractor. This position reports directly to FOR’s Co-Director of Communications. This temporary position will be part time for approximately 2 to 4 months. We expect the work to take a total of 20 to 40 hours.
This position will focus on these tasks:
Minimum qualifications:
Background:
FOR's main web site, FORUSA.org, is currently built with static HTML and Dreamweaver templates. Navigation has not been updated in at some time, and we suspect there are many gems lying relatively unknown and certainly underutilized among the thousands of images and HTML files on the site. The current content of our website will need to be systematically surveyed and documented so that we can determine what to migrate and how to organize it on the new web site. We hope to work with a skilled intern or temporary worker to undertake this classification project. The second major step will be migrating the content, which hopefully can be done in a partially-automated manner to save time.
