Vigiling against drones and climate change

MacGregor Eddy, a friend and fellow peace activist, is on a bus right now on the way to Las Vegas. MacGregor is joining Cindy Sheehan, Father Louie Vitale, members of CodePink, and others on a five-day trip to multiple armed forces bases in California and Nevada -- bases for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines -- whose impacts lead to death and devastation to humanity and the natural environment.

Today is the Interational Day of Action for Climate Justice -- with actions being planned across the United States, MacGregor and her allies are linking their anti-war protests with this earth-centered campaign, noting that war is the greatest threat to the planet -- and tomorrow they will move onward to Creech Air Force Base in Indian Springs, Nevada. That base is one of the ones in the U.S. from which unmanned drones are launched against targets in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Hundreds of civilians have died in these drone missile attacks; MacGregor and others are working to organize a No Drones campaign against the usage of these armaments.
